All you need to cook a frozen hamburger is an air fryer oven and something to get them out without burning yourself! In fact, I recommend using tongs to avoid burning your fingers on the hot air fryer housing.

However, to prepare the additional toppings, you might need a few more items, but not many!

My favorite frozen burger in air fryer

Also, I often use the pre-made frozen hamburgers from ButcherBox. I trust their meat and love the convenience of it being delivered to my front door. I’ve been buying their boxes and adding more options for more than three years now! Their member specials are great.

If you use my referral link to ButcherBox, right now they’ll give you $30 off and ground beef for life (with each box you order)! Love it.

Of course, making frozen burgers is an option too, but that does add another step in the process.

Just make sure they are grass-fed beef burgers – no mystery meats, please!

🔪 Instructions: How to cook air fryer frozen burgers

First of all, preheat the air fryer to 350°F. To do this, just set the temperature and turn it on for about five minutes before cooking frozen burgers.

Next, spray the basket and frozen burgers with avocado oil. You can do this over aluminum foil, a plate, or just the sink.

This is optional but helps them to not stick to the air fryer basket. Also, it helps the seasoning to adhere where it needs to be.

After that, season the air fryer frozen burgers on both sides with salt, garlic powder, Montreal steak seasoning, onion powder, or whatever you prefer.

Then, add the frozen patties in a single layer to the air fryer basket or tray.

In my example pictures, I’m using just one air fryer burger. These are 1/3 pound Kirkland brand grass-fed beef patties in the air fryer basket of a Ninja Foodi (I love this kitchen gadget!).

Cooking time for air fryer frozen hamburgers

What’s the cooking time for air fryer frozen burgers?

Cook for 5 minutes and then flip the frozen burgers over and continue cooking 4 to 5 minutes more. This will mean flipping halfway through the cooking process. Just make sure the beef reaches an internal temperature of 160° – 165° F.

The cook time depends on the thickness of your frozen patty, and I advise using a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature.

I love air frying! The air fryer cooks so well using the air fryer basket or tray. The frozen hamburger patties cook evenly, and you don’t even get any air fryer smoke! It’s an amazing kitchen gadget.

How to make air fryer cheeseburgers

If you choose to make the air fryer frozen burgers into cheeseburgers, leave the burgers in the air fryer and top with one slice of cheese each.

Close the air fryer and cook to let the cheese melt for 1 minute.

You can even turn off the air fryer, close the lid or door, and use the residual heat to melt the cheese.

Finally, serve each juicy burger with the desired toppings, bun, or lettuce wrap. Personally, I prefer a lettuce wrap, but a good keto cloud bread or other low carb bread can work well too.

💭 Top tips for frozen burgers in air fryer

As mentioned, the cook time for a burger patty will vary depending on the thickness of the meat.

If you’re using 160°F as the ideal temperature, check to see if it’s cooked by checking at its thickest point with an instant-read meat thermometer. I’m saying this twice because it’s important!

Air fryers vary, so it’s also good to check your burger patties early and make sure they don’t overcook. If you have thick patties on hand then just add more time for cooking them fully before eating.

For those who prefer well-done meat, cook a little longer. On the other hand, reduce the time for a little pink in the middle.
